After two years, the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, but people around the world, including BTS, are adapting to “the new normal.”
On March 19, BTS’s RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook hosted a surprise live broadcast. Here they chatted about everything from wardrobe malfunctions and scammers to new music and the dark side of Pokémon.
BTS also spoke candidly about their no-cheering concerts in Seoul, as well as their own personal experiences with COVID-19.
In December 2021, Suga, RM, and Jin all received positive test results. Jimin contracted both COVID-19 and acute appendicitis in January, and V tested positive in February. J-Hope and Jungkook are the only two BTS members who have not tested positive for the virus.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 cases are once again surging in South Korea. RM and Suga advised fans to “take care” to avoid catching the virus.
“I think I am the Super Antibody,” Jungkook said, and his members readily agreed. “There are some people who don’t get the disease…I think I am the super antibody considering that I haven’t been confirmed yet.”
None of Jungkook’s family members have contracted the virus either.
Unfortunately, the virus has spread to some of BTS’s own family members. “My mom got confirmed, but my mom was fine,” Suga said. RM’s entire family caught COVID-19.
“I think my father was infected by me,” RM confessed, making J-Hope laugh. “Sorry, dad.”
All kidding aside, COVID-19 is a serious matter, and BTS wants fans to stay healthy. While he was sick, Suga downplayed his condition because he didn’t want to worry ARMY, but he was in fact symptomatic.
