Girls’ Generation recently concluded their promotions for “Forever 1”. The song marked the group’s 15th anniversary and was released specially for fans who had been waiting. After 2017, when Seohyun, Sooyoung, and Tiffany left SM Entertainment to pursue their individual activities, the group never performed as an 8. Until 2022, that is.
The girls made a stellar comeback, proving to the world that they still are on top, even after all those years.
As their two weeks of music show promotions draw to a close, Sooyoung posted a series of group shots from the weeks.
The photos heartened fans, who had not seen the group all glammed up for the stage in 5 years.
The girls had specially recorded their appearances instead of doing it on live broadcast, so that they could let as many fans see them up close and personal as possible. They even posed with fans who came down for the recording.
Of course, huge seniors like the girls are usually not required to participate in the live show, which can be rather draining.
The girls rocked each and every performance.
To top it all off, Sooyoung penned the most heartfelt caption ever to fans and to her girls.
Perhaps it’s due to having finished the festival-like music show promotions but I’m not sure why I feel so bittersweet about uploading these photos. Even so, I’ll try to write down a few of the words I wanted to say… The reason why this comeback took some time was because we felt that the message was more important than the type of music we present to you all. And so, since we wanted to put some strength behind that message, we needed to first consider what sort of person we had to become. Rather than talking about how great we are, how much we have succeeded, we wanted to tell the SONEs who have been waiting and waiting for us to come back as a full group, despite not knowing if we would or not, “we are still here as ever.” That was the message that we put all our hearts behind. As we made this album with this trifle but amazing sincerity, we ran into various realistic obstacles such as adjusting all of our schedules and we tried to come to a compromise between what we wanted to do and what we could do, and there were moments where we began to doubt our sincerity.But as we saw you guys, who cheered us on in the loudest voices ever when the album came out, as if you guys were waiting for this, I thought that it wasn’t us, but you guys, who completed the message. Even now, as ever, and in the future, I want to tell you guys that we’ll be here, so it feels like those short 3 days that were like a dream, manage to fill up the 5 years of hiatus. I’m grateful beyond words… you all touched my heart so greatly.

And truly, when I see the members sing on stage, that flash of immature doubt magically became certainty and surety… This summer, where we were busy due to [our] love [for fans and the group], was the happiest and most precious time ever, because the members were with me.. Let’s be together forever, you gross girls… (I wanted to write only a few words but the reason why it became long like an acceptance speech is because this August was so overwhelming.)
