(G)I-DLE’s Yuqi Explains The Story Behind Her Accidentally Following BLACKPINK’s Lisa On Instagram

In a recent interview with TheKstarNextDoor, which (G)I-DLE‘s Miyeon hosted alongside Jonathan, Miyeon raised the question about rules for personal accounts on Instagram. Minnie shared that they were only allowed to follow each other on Instagram and no one else.

However, Soyeon quickly reminded Minnie that it wasn’t a restriction Cube Entertainment had enforced but rather a promise the girls made amongst themselves.

Miyeon then asked the girls if they had ever had an incident of accidentally liking another artist’s Instagram post or something of that sort.

Minnie shared how Yuqi had once accidentally followed BLACKPINK‘s Lisa, referring to the incident that happened last year.

Yuqi didn’t even realize she had done so until a few hours later when she wondered why her following list had six accounts instead of five. She also admitted that she’d made this mistake a lot, but given that there’s never been another misunderstanding, she probably corrected it quickly.

During the incident, fans of both groups joked about Yuqi forgetting that she was on her public account, and some even suspected something was in the works between the two groups. Sadly, that wasn’t the case, and Yuqi unfollowed Lisa, but it was only because (G)I-DLE had promised each other that they wouldn’t follow anyone else on their personal accounts.

Instead of interacting on social media, Yuqi and Lisa like to hang out in person. They’ve even gone to concerts together, reminding the world that while they may be international superstars, they’re just ordinary girls at heart who share the same hobbies we do.

Besides being a good friend, Yuqi is also a huge fan of Lisa, proving why she’s one of the best hypewomen in the industry.

There are definitely no hard feelings about Yuqi unfollowing Lisa on Instagram, and hopefully, we’ll see more BLACKPINK and (G)I-DLE interactions in the future!
