Actress Lim Ji Yeon, popularly known for her role as Yeon Jin in the Netflix original series The Glory has now become an honorary police officer in South Korea.
Lim shot to international fame earlier this year with the chart-breaking success of The Glory. Her portrayal of a ruthless bully in the series made her character the eyesore of the public, while she received praise as an actress.
While her character, Yeon Jin, ends up behind bars at the end of the show, Lim, in a dramatical inversion of fate, is now a part of the law enforcement agency of Korea. On May 30th, the National Police Agency announced that they have appointed Lim Ji Yeon as an honorary police officer at the Seoul Police Office in Seodaemun-gu.
This role entails a critical responsibility for the actress. During the next two years, she will promote and publicize essential policies and crime prevention activities of the police force.
Additionally, she has been appointed as the “Ambassador of Drug Crime Prevention,” under which she will participate in promotional activities related to drug crime prevention. On the same day, Lim filmed a video for the drug prevention campaign called “NO EXIT.”
Yon Hee Geun, the commissioner of the National Police Agency, showed his faith in Lim, saying, “I hope you take pride in your role as an honorary police officer and serve as a bridge between the police and the public.”
Lim Ji Yeon expressed her gratitude to be bestowed this honor saying, “I’m honored and grateful to be appointed as an honorary police officer and ambassador for drug crime prevention…I will work hard to help the police with a great sense of responsibility and complete all missions”.
With this new milestone achievement, the actress has now joined the leagues of IU, Seo Ye Ji, and Jang Hyuk, who have all been previously appointed as honorary police officers as well.
