On June 27, ATTRAKT released an official statement that said, “Today, we filed a criminal complaint against Ahn Sung Il, CEO of The Givers, and three others at Gangnam Police Station.” The Givers was handling and working on projects under a service contract, and according to ATTRAKT’s claims, the company engaged in obstruction of business while transferring project tasks and tried to sabotage the purchase of “Cupid” copyrights.

During the process of transferring project tasks, The Givers engaged in obstruction of business, fraud, and breach of trust, including deleting project-related data, delaying in taking over tasks and deleting company’s mail accounts, etc. During the purchase of the song ‘Cupid’ from a foreign composer, ‘The Givers’ didn’t provide any information to ATTRAKT about the purchase of the copyrights, and [the CEO] and [his] company bought the copyright secretly.

Previously, ATTRAKT notified fans that an unknown outsider had attempted to shut down FIFTY FIFTY’s fancafe and that they were taking action against the unauthorized takeover of the group’s account. The agency also got into hot waters with Warner Music Korea after claiming that they had attempted to poach the girl group. Warner Music Korea immediately released a statement slamming the accusations.
