Netizens Praise Stray Kids’ Han For Being The Youngest Full Member Of The Korea Music Copyright Association

Becoming a member of KOMCA — the Korea Music Copyright Association — is no easy task. Copyright owners such as composers, authors, arrangers, and music publishers can join the organization, which is a non-profit copyright collective for musical works, administering public performance and broadcasting rights, and mechanical recording and reproduction rights. While anyone that owns copyrighted material can join, there are strict prerequisites they must reach first in order to achieve it.

Among the prerequisites are maintaining an associate membership with KOMCA for at least three years, as well as earning over 30 million won (~$22,650 USD) in royalties for their copyrighted material. Only 25 members are allowed to upgrade to full membership each year, making it a very prestigious accomplishment.

In January 2023, Stray Kids members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han — known collectively as the production unit 3RACHA — made fans proud by being among the 25 people to earn full KOMCA memberships this year.

Han, being the youngest of the three at just 22 years old, is thus currently the youngest full member of KOMCA, and has an impressive 135 registered songs to his name. This makes him the third-most credited idol of the fourth generation of K-Pop, surpassed only by his fellow members.
