Recorded footage shows shopping fleeing the area as gunshots go off, with those unable to find exits sheltering in different locations in the mall.

The 14-year-old suspect was captured at the Siam Kempinski Hotel around 50 minutes after the shooting is said to have begun. Photos show authorities pinning the suspect on the ground and collecting the suspected weapon used.

According to most recent police updates, two were killed and five injured, many of which are critical.

The suspect’s capture was recorded on film, with many noting that the teenager was wearing an American flag hat. There have been over 500 mass shootings in the United States this year alone, and many have theorized this may have served as an inspiration as in other cases.

Police General Torsak Sukwimon reported that the two killed were a Chinese woman and a Myanmar national and that the suspect has a history of mental illness.
