And while fans are incredibly proud of the hard-working and talented idol who has continued to show off her many charms…
A recent video uploaded to her YouTube channel shows that in addition to being such an incredible artist, she has an equally incredible personality.
AleXa was born in Oklahoma, USA. She made her way into the K-Pop industry by posting dance covers on social media and entering an online contest called “Rising Legends.”
Her incredible dance skills gave her the opportunity to come to Korea in 2017 and film a mini-reality series, Legendary: Making of a K-Pop Star, with popular YouTuber JREKML.
From there, AleXa signed with the ZB Label, competed in Produce 48, and eventually made her debut as a soloist.
But since the idol was back in the United States to compete in the American Song Contest, AleXa was given the opportunity to return home and even visit her old high school.
AleXa shows her reunion with some of her old high school teachers in her vlog, and while she confessed her nervousness to the camera…
[I’m] really excited but also nervous because I graduated seven years ago, and I haven’t been on this campus since.
-AleXa
She eagerly greets her teachers with enthusiastic hugs and a tearful greeting.
And her teachers also show off how well they remember AleXa, pointing out that her hair has grown since she was a student.
Her hair is long!
-One of AleXa’s former teachers
And one of her teachers even remembers that AleXa didn’t use her locker much as a student, which is why she has a little trouble remembering where it is now.
But you didn’t use [your locker] much, did you?
-One of AleXa’s former teachers
Which AleXa confirms, explaining that she preferred to carry her school supplies.
So I never went [to] my locker during the day, I kinda just carried everything with me in my bag.
-AleXa
But beyond even expressing her fondness for her teachers, AleXa takes the time to address some of the students, explaining her journey of how she went from being in their shoes to becoming a K-Pop artist.
So after I graduated Jenks, I did a little bit of college here in Tulsa, and then around the end of 2017 via some online like K-Pop dance cover competition I got scouted by a comapny in South Korea. So I’m currently an active, promoting artist over in South Korea.
-AleXa
And she also jokingly shares how different it feels to be back in her old high school while also expressing her gratitude for her music teacher, who helped inspire her to become a successful artist.
It’s weird being a K-Pop artist back here now. It’s like ‘Oh, wow! Everything has changed,’ but Mrs. Hester is someone that honestly helped shape my life so much. She just really helped me just get this love for the stage and performing and I really hope that you guys can take this inspiration and positivity from her and the whole music department and carry that on with you later in life no matter where you go.
-AleXa
And to further express her gratitude for her teachers, she brings them signed albums. But, rather than simply giving the albums as gifts, she explains to her former teachers that it’s a tradition in K-Pop to give albums to “senior artists.”
So part of being a K-Pop artist is when we go to music shows we typically give albums to the senior artists or other artists that are there, so I prepared this for you.
-AleXa
And her teachers can’t hold back their enthusiasm at receiving such a touching gift.
It has my name on it and your autograph! That’s so cool. I’m flattered.
-One of AleXa’s former teachers
And AleXa shares that she’s “so happy” to meet her former teachers again.
I said it earlier, but you guys truly helped influence my love of the arts and performing because there were so many times I wanted to give up, but thank you so much for always just seeing something in me. I love you for that.
-AleXa
And her former teachers can’t help but express how proud they are of all that she’s achieved.
I’m so proud of you.
-One of AleXa’s former teachers
Well you always had a really innate interest [in performing] that I think drives you in the arts. That’s what I remember so much.
-One of AleXa’s former teachers
It will inspire. It will inspire others, and that’s the perfect thing.
-One of AleXa’s former teachers
Although AleXa’s immense passion and kindness don’t surprise fans, her visit to her former high school truly shows her incredible personality.
