LE SSERAFIM has been actively promoting their debut album FEARLESS on music shows and with variety show appearances. The girls recently celebrated their second music show win for their song “FEARLESS.”
LE SSERAFIM’s Chaewon and Sakura were recently guests on the popular variety show, Knowing Bros., along with Billlie‘s Tsuki and Moon Sua.
The girls answered the hosts’ questions and shared stories with viewers for a chance for fans to get to know the rookie group members a bit better. Their respective groups also joined them for a dance performance of their latest songs.
While the idols were chatting with the hosts, the topic of fan service came up. They began to discuss their most memorable fan service moment.
Sakura first shared a touching story of when a fan of hers posted on their social media that they had gotten engaged. While performing at a later time, Sakura spotted the fan in the crowd and congratulated them, holding up her hand to acknowledge the engagement.
After sharing, one of the hosts asked if she had a particular fan that she remembered. Sakura thought of an experience that she had in Japan. Sakura became a first generation trainee for the Japanese pop group HKT48 at the age of 13, becoming a full member of the group a year later.
She revealed that her parents divorced when she was only a year old, and her mom eventually remarried.
Sakura revealed that she had not seen her father since her parent’s separation, not even in pictures. The hosts kindly encouraged her as she opened up about the sensitive topic.
Sakura told a story of her first handshake event in her hometown of Kagoshima, Japan. She said it started as a typical fan event until an older gentleman approached her, saying he was cheering for her. She said the moment they shook hands; she had an intuition that it was her estranged father.
Billlie’s Tsuki said she had goosebumps from the story, and the other hosts asked how she could know from just a handshake. Sakura clarified that a lady she believed to be her paternal grandmother was next to him in line. The grandmother asked Sakura, “don’t you remember?” and that was enough for the idol to feel that he was her dad.
When asked if she had seen him since the idol said she had not.
Fans pointed out how strong Sakura must be, having grown up away from her family and without knowing her father—noting her positive attitude, even while sharing a sad story. Fans wished her nothing but happy memories moving forward!
