Stray Kids Fans Don’t Want The Members To Open Individual Instagram Accounts For A Few Reasons

Stray Kids currently share one group Instagram where members can each post photos, and many fans hope it stays this way. There are a few reasons they don’t want the artists to open individual accounts.

TWICE fans were thrilled with the recent launch of the JYP Entertainment girl group’s individual Instagram accounts. But for Stray Kids fans, the news prompted the discussion: Could TWICE’s labelmate, Stray Kids, be the next to get their own platforms?

One might think that individual Instagram accounts are the goal. After all, it usually takes time before K-Pop idols open personal accounts, and fans see it as a sort of privilege. In terms of fourth-generation K-Pop groups, which Stray Kids are, there is a small list of idols known to have individual accounts.

The photo-sharing platform offers idols another way to interact with fans. For Stray Kids, though, not all fans see it as a positive.

STAYs know that the members would post great photos. Even simple mirror photos like the ones Hyunjin posts become iconic. So what’s the problem?

If the members had personal accounts, certain members would likely post more than others. Even on the shared Instagram, certain members are known for uploading more.

Fans have even joked that I.N practically owns the group Instagram now, as he posts the most content to the platform.

I.N usually posts aesthetic photos, and his use of the #OOTD (outfit of the day) tag is particularly noteworthy.

One fan mentioned that they loved how the other members stuck with the color palette that I.N had chosen for Instagram, as the last few posts by Felix, Lee Know, and Seungmin seem to stick to a concept layout.

Instagram is, of course, just one of many ways they update fans. While the group’s Twitter is currently used for promotional materials, the members of Stray Kids use VLIVE, Bubble, and TikTok.

For example, while Bang Chan is rarely active on Instagram, he keeps his promise to STAY by hosting his “Chan’s Room” weekly live shows on VLIVE and uses that platform to keep in touch.

When it comes to individual Instagrams, some fans are also concerned that follower counts would be uneven, an inevitable possibility that groups who open personal accounts face. Still, others have argued that this shouldn’t be an issue.

Some STAYs have also pointed out that the account for 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han) hasn’t been used since February 2020. These fans wish that this account would make a comeback first.

While the debate surrounding whether Stray Kids should open personal Instagrams is primarily light-hearted, it will likely be a while before it’s even possible. If the members choose to open accounts, fans are sure to support them.
