Only a year into their debut, LE SSERAFIM, the first girl group to debut under HYBE, has already made their mark in the K-Pop industry. Members Sakura, Chaewon, Yunjin, Kazuha, and Eunchae have all solidified their popularity as power performers, both in Korea and internationally.
Apart from their incredible live performances and musicality, LE SSERAFIM is also known for the outstanding visuals of each member. A look back at their pre-debut era only proves how all five of them have only grown more beautiful with time!
Sakura
Born in Kagoshima, Japan, LE SSERAFIM’s oldest member Sakura has been in the entertainment industry since she was 13 years old. Before becoming a K-Pop idol, she was a first generation member of the J-Pop group HKT48. Her domestic popularity soared after her debut, and she ended up joining Produce48 alongside a few of her fellow HKT48 members in 2018. At the end of the show, she made it to the final lineup of IZ*ONE. With IZ*ONE’s disbandment, she joined HYBE Labels in 2021 and graduated from HKT48. Eventually, she made her third debut with LE SSERAFIM in 2022.

Chaewon
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Chaewon is the daughter of theater actress Lee Ran Hee. She gained popularity as a contestant on Produce48 and made it to the lineup of IZ*ONE along with Sakura. After the group’s disbandment, Chaewon joined HYBE together with Sakura and debuted with LE SSERAFIM in the position of the leader!

Chaewon was praised for her cute and girl-next-door image when she was in Produce48 and later in IZ*ONE. Rumors have it that before debuting, she was quite popular in school for her visuals.
After LE SSERAFIM
When LE SSERAFIM’s debut teasers dropped, fans were shocked to see the drastic shift in her appearance. Her cute image was replaced by the badass styling, and now she exudes an effortlessly “fearless” vibe.
Yunjin
Yunjin was born in Korea but spent most of her life in the United States. According to the idol herself, her family moved around a lot. So, she has lived in California, Chicago, and mostly, New York. In 2018 she moved to South Korea and became a trainee under Pledis Entertainment. Before debuting with LE SSERAFIM, Yunjin was also a participant in Produce48 during the same season as Chaewon and Sakura. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it to the final lineup. In 2021, she signed a contract with Source Music and debuted in LE SSERAFIM the following year.

Kazuha
Born in Osaka, Japan, Kazuha was a professional ballerina before becoming a K-Pop idol. She attended ballet academies in Japan, Moskow, the UK, and most recently, the Netherlands. While talking about her ambitions to become an idol, Kazuha credited BTS member Jimin as one of her biggest inspirations. She shared in an interview that since Jimin also shares a similar dance background with Kazuha, she was inspired to become a unique performer like him.

Eunchae
The youngest member of LE SSERAFIM, Eunchae was born in Miryang, South Korea. Before becoming a trainee, she was a student at the famous Def Music Academy.
