In 2021, the fast-food chain announced its collaboration with BTS for The BTS Meal as part of McDonald’s Famous Orders initiative. The meal included Cajun and Sweet Chili dipping sauces with 10 McNuggets (9 in some countries), fries, and a Coca-Cola.

Naturally, McDonald’s had an increase in customers at the time as ARMYs were eager to get the purple packaging and the limited-edition sauces.

Now, ARMYs are returning to McDonald’s. It’s not the return of The BTS Meal, though. It’s for another special purple-themed meal.

Right now, McDonald’s is selling purple milkshakes, making them the perfect celebration drink for BTS’s 10th anniversary, which is this month.

The berry-flavored shake is actually part of a meal in honor of someone else’s birthday: Grimace. The large purple round character is part of McDonaldland, along with clown mascot Ronald McDonald.

His birthday celebration began June 12, just the day before BTS’s anniversary. They debuted on June 13, 2013. Besides the Grimace Shake, the meal includes a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, like The BTS Meal, Medium Fries, and a Big Mac. So, if you’re lonely for The BTS Meal, you might want to go get it.

With the timing of Grimace’s Birthday Meal and the purple color scheme, ARMYs can’t help but wonder if corporate planned this with BTS in mind.
