MONSTA X’s Hyungwon Gains Attention For His Reaction To A Joke About His Upcoming Military Enlistment

During some point in their K-Pop stanning career, most fans will become military spouses after their favorite boy group members begin their mandatory military enlistment.

Winner‘s Kang Seungyoon and BTS‘s J-Hope and Jin are just some of the many recently enlisted idols.

Enlistments are not entirely a surprise, and fans typically have a general estimate of when idols will enlist based on their birthday. For example, most idols born in 1994 will enlist sometime soon or have already begun their service.

MONSTA X currently have three members that are enlisted or will be soon, and due to the “results” of military training…

…fans have a somewhat different outlook on enlistment!

This likely led a fan to joke with Hyungwon about his enlistment!

Hyungwon and Shownu attended KCON LA 2023 as the subunit Shownu X Hyungwon and participated in many special activities, including the Meet & Greet event.  While it did not go completely as scheduled, fans could see the group up close and personal, even relaying short messages.

It seems like one fan used the opportunity to joke about Hyungwon’s enlistment, saluting at him, much to his surprise! The fan claimed that Hyungwon made a shocked face as they walked by.

Another fan shared a photo of Hyungwon from the event, claiming he made that face when their friend did something similar! While it is unclear if these are two different times this happened, Hyunwon’s response was truly too funny!

Fans couldn’t help but laugh at the moments; a good way of dealing with what could be a stressful time.
