Single’s Inferno 3 has officially arrived, and netizens are back to seeing whether good-looking Koreans can find love on an island.
When it comes to iconic contestants in the show’s history, Song Ji A is always at the top.
As soon as she appeared on the show, she became a huge topic (and not just for her resemblance to BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and IVE‘s Jang Wonyoung).
It seems that one contestant from the new series has gained the reputation of trying to be like Song Ji but failing, and it’s Kim Gyu Ri.
Gyu Ri was the first contestant to make her entrance, and from the beginning, it was clear that she was aware of her own beauty and visuals.
Gyu Ri explained that while she was bubbly, she normally had a first impression that seemed cold, distant, and shy.
Yet, this coldness was on show when the next contestant came, who was fan favorite Choi Hye Seon. When Hye Seon told Gyu Ri she was pretty, her reaction seemed nonchalant without returning the compliment.
When all the first contestants were confirmed, with three girls and three guys, Gyu Ri instantly showcased her confidence, believing she was the best pick. In particular, she claimed one had too much of a bubbly personality, and the other made no impact.
Yet, her confidence was quickly shot down when the first coupling happened, and she didn’t get a single vote. Gyu Ri found it “puzzling.”
When netizens noticed the “resemblance,” they couldn’t help but joke that there is always one idol trying to be Song Ji A. In particular, some pointed out that when Ji A introduced herself, she also spoke about the fact no other girls could beat her because she is “that confident.”
Yet, in this case, it felt like she was just trying too hard to be Ji A, especially with the way she was showcasing herself, but just coming off as “try-hard.”

Netizens couldn’t stop sharing all the “red flags” of Gyu Ri, and while Song Ji A was confident, she never did it at the expense of the other female contestants.
While confidence is key in a show like this, so is humility and being a good person to those around you. Although Gyu Ri was humbled quickly, she had a bad first impression, which made netizens wary of whether she was real or fake.
